Mrs. Rukayat Banire–Afolabi was born on the 8th April 1975 in Lagos to the Family of Late Idris Adisa Banireand Mrs Abike Banire.
She started her Education pursuit at Aunty Ayo Preparatory School Ikoyi, later went to Lagos Island Local Government Primary School for her Primary School Education between1980-1986. She thereafter proceeded to Command Day Secondary School Ojo for her Secondary School Education between 1986 to 1992.
Having acquiring the pre-requisite qualification, Mrs. Banire-Afolabi gained admission to Ogun State Polytechnic Abeokuta for her National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Business Administration and Marketing respectively.
Her Public Service career started in January, 2002 when she was engaged by the Lagos State Civil Service Commission as Trade Officer on Grade Level 07 and rose to Assistant Trade Officer Grade Level 13 before her re-designation to Procurement Cadre as Assistant Chief Procurement Officer in February, 2019.
She served in the Ministry of Commerce Industry and Cooperatives (2002-2019), Local Government Service Commission (2019- Feb 2022) before her deployment to the Office of the Deputy Governor in February, 2022.
Mrs. Rukayat Banire-Afolabi is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN).
She loves cooking and is happily married with Children.
